This unit describes physical components that are required for a computer system to function, referred to as Hardware.

Unlike hardware, this unit describes the intangible part of the computer, the Software. Software consists of a sequence of commands, written according to strict rules. The unit also describes software types and explains programs that facilitate easier computer accessibility.

  This unit describes what you need to have a computer network. The unit also describes types of network, the internet  as well as data flow in a network. A network is composed of at least two, connected, by wire or wireless, computers that can exchange data i.e. communicate.

   This unit describes how ICT is used in everyday life in handling information and facilitating communication. The unit gives detail to related topics as Internet Services, e-Learning, Teleworking, Communication Platforms and Virtual Communities. A summary and quiz is provided at the end to assess the level understanding of the unit.

  This unit describes different ways of securing ICT equipment. It also describes various security threats that can affect computers at any time on a network.  Information security is defined as:
