Malawi Standard Treatment Guidelines(MSTG) - 6th Edition
The dynamic nature of medicine necessitates the frequent review of important publications such as the Malawi Standard treatment guidelines.
This 6th Edition includes key information on the selection, prescribing, dispensing and administration of medicines. In addition, the MSTG includes the Malawi Essential Medicines List (MEML) in order to standardise prescribing patterns and practices, thereby enabling a more consistent and uniform range of available medicines at different levels of care.
This edition has additional clinical conditions and clinical descriptions. Additionally, the AWaRE categorization for strengthening the stewardship of antimicrobial use has been adopted in the MEML.
The Ministry of Health urges practitioners in Malawi to use this 6th Edition of the MSTG in their line of duty.
